We the people

Of the many practical quotes from Ronald Reagan one of my favorite is “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We did not pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

Most people would read this quote and think that President Reagan was referring to foreign power that could destroy this great nation. Today that threat is coming from “WE The People,” the people we have elected to represent us. Over the last 80 years “We the People” have asked government to do so much more for us. The politicians and the courts were very happy to oblige us regardless of what the Constitution said. We have a government that now wants to control our economy, health care, energy, banking, and automobiles. Do you really feel that government will take care of every problem? Or my friends, is it as Ronald Regan said, “Government is the problem”. We have one central, overreaching government telling “We the People” which toilet, light bulb, healthcare, or automobile we have to purchase. The same people who caused our economic belt down in the first place are now telling us what to do. Is this the America “We the People” want?

Is our complacency worth giving up our freedom and liberties? Are we content to have one centralized government, regulating all aspects of our lives from a control center, yet exempting certain special interest groups from any regulation to which” We the People” have to comply?

Oh, that laughter you hear ......that would be King George!
